Check the delivery status of messages in your Message History

Every message that passes though our SMS gateway is logged. You can access your Message History in your account Message Centre, and we will send you a regular report by email showing all the messages that you have submitted to us for delivery.

Message History in the Message Centre

Your Message History is available to view in your Message Centre portal. The Message Centre provides powerful search options to enable you to quickly find your messages to check their delivery status in real-time.

Message History reports by email

We will send your Message History to you by email as a daily, weekly or monthly report. Files are sent in both Microsoft Excel and Comma Separated Value (CSV) format, which is a simplified format that can easily be imported into other your applications. We can optionally encrypt your Message History report using PGP so that only you can read the files we send.

Message History data format

Example data Description
Sent Time 2014-11-28 08:40:33 The date and time the message was sent to Connection Software.
Source 192.168.213.3 The address from which the message was sent.
Destination Used 4477000912345 The telephone number of the recipient including country and area code.
Contact Name John Ito If the Destination number can be found in your Contacts Manager then the contact name of the recipient will be shown.
Status Time 2014-11-28 08:40:45 The date and time of the last received Status Message. This is usually rounded down to the nearest minute.
Status Messages Accepted by phone The latest status report about the message. See Status Messages table below for possible values.
Message ID 0000050F Unique number to identify this message.
Message Type TEXT The message type. It is either TEXT, BINARY, RING, RTTTL, IMAGE, OTB, PUSH, MMS or POLY.
Service Premier The Premier Service uses direct connections to many Tier One Mobile Network Operators for the vast majority of our traffic. Where no direct connections are available we use indirect routes to provide the widest possible coverage.
Units 2 This shows the number of messages charged. Multipart messages & some binary messages may be sent as more than 1 message.

Message History status messages

Status messages give you the latest available information about how far text messages have moved towards being delivered to the destination number. Below we give some examples of common Status Messages and their meanings:

Status Message Meaning
Accepted by phone The message has been confirmed as delivered to the destination handset.
Accepted by Network The message has been delivered to a Mobile Network Operator and they should deliver it. However the Mobile Network Operator does not provide final delivery status to indicate whether or not it was actually able to deliver the message.
Test message succeeded A message sent to one of the test phone numbers (447700900000 - 447700999999) was handled successfully.
Accepted by Network (queued) The message has been delivered to a Mobile Network Operator and they have queued it while trying to deliver it to the destination handset.
Accepted by csoft: delayed The message was marked for Delayed Delivery and has been delayed as requested.
Accepted by csoft: queued The message has been queued by Connection Software pending a Mobile Network Operator being able to accept the message.
Blacklisted number The destination phone number has been blacklisted.
Deleted by SMSC Delayed messages that have been canceled and deleted from the queue will have their status changed to 'Deleted by SMSC'.
Expired by SMSC The Mobile Network Operator that the message was passed to tried to deliver the message but was unable to do so. This usually indicates that the number was valid but switched off or otherwise unavailable.
Invalid login The Login Username that was entered was invalid.
Invalid number The destination phone number that was given was invalid. For example numbers starting with 00 or 011 are usually invalid. See International Number Format information.
Out of Credit There is no credit on the account trying to send the message. Please deposit funds.
Opted Out The user of the mobile/cell phone has either not yet opted in to receive messages from you or has opted out. Recipients can opt-out of receiving messages by replying with a message starting with any of the words "STOP", LEAVE, "QUIT, "OFF" or "END".
Rejected by SMSC The Mobile Network Operator that the message was passed to reported immediately that it was unable to deliver the message. This usually indicates that we cannot deliver to the specified Country or Network - but sometimes indicates that the ability of a Network Operator to deliver has changed and we have failed to keep up with events.
SMSC cannot deliver The Mobile Network Operator that the message was passed to tried to deliver the message but was unable to do so. This usually indicates that the number found to be invalid at a late stage in the delivery process.
Suspended The service has been suspended. Please contact us to discuss why this has occurred.
System error This should never occur.
Unrecognised recipient This error could occur if an Contacts Manager Name or Group Name could not be found for an account. Make sure that these have been spelt correctly.
Unknown number The destination phone number was found to be unknown.
Wrong PIN The PIN that was entered was not accepted.
