setting the "Originator Address" field on a message

"The messages I send appear to come from csoft.co.uk. Is there any way I can make them appear to come from my own number or have my company's name instead of csoft?"

The short answer is "Yes"

  1. We can set the Originator Address field to a mobile phone number that we provide. With this anyone can reply to your message and we will forward their replies on to you.
  2. You can set the Originator Address field to a mobile number that you own or have permission to use. In this case people can reply to your message and their reply will go directly to the mobile.
  3. You can set the Originator Address field to alphabet characters and digits (e.g. csoft.co.uk or mycompany). In this case people cannot reply to messages that you send to them.

There are conditions attached to each of the above. The conditions are mainly designed to prevent people impersonating other people or companies. This is in accordance with the Mobile Marketing Association Code of Practice which all reputable suppliers endorse.

1. Set the Originator Address field to a UK mobile phone number that we provide

This is the most popular option and is known as Two-Way Service. The number looks like a standard UK mobile number but it is for receiving SMS only. There is a setup charge and a monthly charge for this service. See Two-Way Option 1 and Option 2.

You can provision this service yourself on the website for immediate use and there is a free one week trial option.
