Service overview
- The Mobile Network Operator (MNO) in country "A"
will direct all local traffic for certain agreed countries
and/or
Networks
to Connection Software for delivery
- Connection Software will deliver the above messages
in country "B" with a Originator Address
that the recipient can use to reply to the message.
This may be a UK number
or a number
in
the recipients country at Connection software's discretion
- The recipient if the message in country "B" will
be able to reply to the message - and their reply
will be received by Connection Software
- When Connection Software receives the MO message
it will automatically redirect it back to the Mobile
Network Operator with the Originator Address set to
that of the recipient in country "B"
The net effect is that the Network Operator's customers
can exchange messages with people on
837 networks worldwide.

Requirements on the Mobile network operator
Internet based TCP/IP SMPP connection
In order to offer this service Connection Software
need to establish a direct TCP/IP Internet based connection
to the MNO's SMSC using SMPP version 3.3 or greater.
We need this in order
to
- Receive messages from the MNO customers for delivery
to the rest of the world
- Send messages from the rest of the world back
to the MNO for delivery locally by you
- The ability to set the Source Address for all messages
that we send to the MNO
- Receive delivery receipts for all messages sent
to the MNO for delivery
Redundancy
Connection Software strongly recommend
that 2 (two) independent TCP/IP connections be provided
to two SMSCs at two different
physical locations with two different sources of electrical
power in order to maximise the overall reliability
of the service. At Connection Software's end everything
is duplicated and you will be given access to multiple
servers.
|
Internet / SMSC Interface unit
| We can provide a dedicated unit that will use a modem
(ADSL, Leased Line, Private Circuit or other) to connect
to the internet and a serial connection, or other connection,
to communicate with the SMSC, including protocol conversion
if required. |
Requests to the Mobile network operator
Local traffic delivery
Connection software ask that they can deliver SMS
traffic via the established SMPP connection for delivery
locally
and,
preferably,
to your roaming partners.
This provides additional revenue for the MNO and
additional reliable coverage for Co0nnection Software.
Local Virtual numbers
If we are to be able to offer other MNOs direct delivery
of SMS messages to the MNO's customers we will need
10 Virtual Numbers - that is local mobile phone numbers.
|
Support
|
Connection Software will provide support to 3 (three)
of the MNOs named engineers. Support will be provided
- By access to a private extranet area on Connection
Software's website.
- By submitting a web-based Support Request
- By SMS, email, telephone or fax.
Engineers will be available during normal UK office
hours. Outside of office hours the systems are fully
monitored and the provision of duplicate systems ensures
a highly reliable service. Any serious problem will
be dealt with without delay. An emergency telephone
number will be provided.
