| Question |
How do I format the mobile/cell phone number for your service? |
| Answer |
The recommended number format is International Number Format. Numbers in International Format should only contain the digits
0123456789; There should be no spaces or punctuation. Numbers must start with the country code of the country that you want
your messages to be delivered to. Do not include the international dialing prefix which is often 011 (e.g. in the USA),
00 (e.g. in Europe, South America) but is sometimes 001 (e.g. in Japan) or 009 (in Nigeria) etc. See
International Phone Numbers for more details. |

| Question |
Can I send messages in languages other than English? |
| Answer |
Yes we fully support all written languages. You can
send messages from this website, or using any of our products or API's. You must be sending to a handset that is able
to display the message in that language. Not all handsets can display all languiages for example most European handsets will not display Cyrillic or Farsi characters. |

| Question |
Do you charge more for international messages? |
| Answer |
No, we currently charge the same for all destinations. |

| Question |
I've heared that if you send an SMS message to a land line you get a voice message on your answerphone where the SMS is read out
by a computer generated voice. I've tried this with my own home phone and the message just fails. |
| Answer |
This is a UK service that BT now offer called BT Text (http://www.bt.com/bttext/use_bt_text.html).
You can do this from our service but you must use a numeric Originator Address value. The default of "csoft.co.uk" will
not work.

| Question |
I've received an "unsolicited" SMS text message
through your service. a) Who gives you the right to send
this to me? b) Where did you find my details/who gave you
my details? |
| Answer |
Connection Software
do not generate unsolicited SMS messages or condone the sending of unsolicited SMS messages by our customers.
We will investigate reports that we receive and inform
the sender of the message that this is unacceptable. Continued breaches
will result in our service being withdrawn from that customer.
See our Acceptable
Use Policy statement. |

| Question |
Will my mobile phone work in country XX / Please send
me the PIN I need to unlock my phone |
| Answer |
We are independent of all Mobile Network Operators so
if you have a question about the account that you have
with your Network Operator then you will need to ask them.
We deal with several hundred operators world-wide but we do not set
the Terms and Conditions under which they do business with
their customers. Sorry! |
| |
| Question |
For messages to the States, I've heard that it's necessary
to enter an additional Network number. Is it not possible
to deduce the network from the number? |
| Answer |
Delivery to mobile phones is based entirely on the phone
number, there is no need to specify any other information.
Whilst in many countries the phone number can be used to
determine the network that the phone is connected to, this
does not apply to the USA where the FCC has mandated that
numbers be allocated to cell phones geographically using
the local area code. We are able to work out which US network
the phone is on from the number so we do not need this
information and can deliver directly to US cell phones. |

| Question |
I checked out the link to the SOAP option, but because
I am not technically minded I could not understand what
advantages could be had by using this option. Is there
any info or suggested links that I could check out which
would explain in layman's terms what SOAP using SMS can
do? |
| Answer |
For the layman using SOAP to connect to us holds little
if any advantage. However for the programmer or systems
analyst it provides an attractive way of passing business
information between computer systems. For the layman I
would advise e-mail or Mobile Messenger as an easy way
to send us messages. |
| |
| Question |
I registered for your service but every time I send
a message using Mobile Messenger your system tells me "Message failed due
to incorrect login". What is wrong? |
| Answer |
99% chance this is due to Mobile Messenger having the
wrong Username and PIN information. The Username is case
sensitive so TAlan.12345 is quite different from talan.12345.
- Launch Mobile Messenger
- Choose the "Configure" menu item and select "It's
Arrived"
- Enter your Username and PIN EXACTLY as sent to you.
The Username was sent to you by e-mail and consists of
letters, a period and 5 numbers. The PIN was sent to
your mobile/cell phone.
- Press OK
- Try sending a message
- If you still get problems then please send the log
file, which is usually in C:\Program Files\Connection
Software\Mobile Messenger\Log, to support(at)csoft.co.uk
with a note explaining the problem.

| Question |
Do you support SOAP over email? |
| Answer |
Not at present but we will provide this when we have
a specific requirement. Please ask. |
| |
| Question |
Why do delivery receipts indicate that the message was
delivered before it was sent to your server? |
| Answer |
Network operators only provide their status times to
the nearest minute so if you send a message at 13:10:30
and it is delivered 10 seconds later the delivery receipt
will be timed at 13:10:00 and not at 13:10:40 as you would
expect. All delivery receipts have 00 in the seconds field.
And don't forget that we use UTC (GMT) for all times on
the website - this is because we deliver messages from
people all over the world and to people all over the world. |
